SK Butterflies Inc. is a family-owned butterfly breeding business based in Miami, Florida.

Kiki, an artist with a love for nature, discovered a naturally deceased butterfly on the floor of her greenhouse. Seeing its delicate beauty, her husband, Sedrick, suggested that she preserve and frame it instead of letting it return to the earth.
After completing the piece, Kiki proudly showed it to Sedrick. His response was immediate:

“I love it—I would buy that.”

In that moment, Sedrick recognized the potential to turn Kiki’s creativity into something much bigger. What began as a simple idea between husband and wife grew into a shared vision, inspiring them to build a business centered around butterflies, art, education, and conservation.

Today, SK Butterflies truly is a family endeavor. Alongside Kiki and Sedrick are their two incredible daughters, Vincci and Valli, who have grown up surrounded by butterflies and nature. They proudly help care for the business by collecting butterfly eggs and caterpillars from the garden, watering host and nectar plants, packing customer orders, and lending a hand wherever they can.

In helping with the butterfly business it teaches their children responsibility, compassion, patience, and confidence while showing them the value of teamwork, and caring for the natural world. Every butterfly they help raise helps shape the kind of people they’re becoming.

SK Butterflies raises over a dozen native butterfly species throughout the year in a safe, predator-free environment where they can thrive. Once the butterflies have naturally completed their short life cycle, they are carefully and respectfully preserved, honoring the beauty they leave behind. These butterflies are transformed into one-of-a-kind works of art, jewelry, home décor, and other unique keepsakes, allowing their beauty to be appreciated for years to come.

In addition to their handcrafted creations, SK Butterflies offers live caterpillar kits for raise-and-release experiences, interactive school presentations, butterfly gardening clubs, educational workshops, butterfly releases, after-school garden programs, and so much more.

Since officially incorporating in 2015, SK Butterflies has experienced tremendous growth, earning the trust of customers, schools, museums, organizations, and nature enthusiasts while connecting thousands of people with the fascinating world of butterflies through art, education, and hands-on experiences.
